What is the radeon equivalent of the 560? And building one does sound like fun! :)

And, the interweb will tell me how to assemble all the shenanigans, right?

AMD's equivalent to Nvidia's gtx 560 is the Radeon 6950

    Hello,

I'm currently considering an optibay hard disk to supplement my ssd, and I was wondering if anybody had any recommendations that they had good experiences with? I'm especially concerned with overheating issues I've read about in this forum. I read that someone actually had their SATA cable melt because of the heat, and a few stories about the disk being ruined due to heat. Thanks.

Also, here are the posts about the overheating issues if anybody is interested:

I think my choice of light has a lot to do with conditioning through my time being educated as a photographer.

The school had 8 studios with a complete Bron Color set for each, along with three lamps.
My place of internship had me then introduced to Bron's cheap brand "Hensel" and when I went on to the 2nd department of that studio I was back on Bron Color.
During the last year of my studies I was working with Pro Foto and almost immediatly after I was done I worked with Bowens.

Yes, light is light. But the price you pay affects quality of build and durability and how much you can trust the lamps color temperature.

In my current line of work, I'm depending on lamps of 1600watts or more, below that would render my tasks impossible due to the need of high apertures and low iso. (and that's even working with Sinar where I can control the focus plane...)

At home I've settled for a Bowens flash kit with 2 500w lamps which are fine for people photography. I mostly shoot no higher than F8.
But if I had to do large pack shots I would have a problem.
What I like about the Bowens remote kit is that I could just put in two remote cards and then my pocket wizard will trigger them from far away and around corners etc.
I paid around 1500 dollars for that kit (including stands and what not)

I have no doubt in my mind that I will in time exchange my kit to Bron or Pro Foto, or just buy it as an extra set. I trust those two brands and I know for a fact that their longevity is amazing.
At my fulltime job we work on 15-20 year old Bron generators and they are as steady as they've always been... I'd like to see the same durability in a product half as expensive as Bron. I doubt you'd find it.
While Bron offers a lot of customization in their generators, I find the system of Pro Foto very intuitive and user friendly and the way they build their basic reflectors you don't even have to buy into spots etc., just tape two reflectors together :D

My tip would to save up to Bron or Pro... or even invest in a used genny. We sometimes get insane offers like 1000 dollars for a 2400w generator (yeah, my boss got connections :( )
Photographers crash and burn often and it's those guys you need to find... they often sell out their gear for pennies.

    Best of luck to ya.

Well, given how tiny the Nano is you shouldn't have any problem hiding it from him... ;)

Very funny! Alternatively, buy it for him and then use it yourself?

I have an iMic and the M-Audio Fast-Track interfaces. I liked the M-Audio one just because it has a few more features like digital out...but it's purely your choice. Both products have been reliable.

anyone has any idea of what i could do about it tho

Other than contact Dev Support or file a bug report no.
You tried the install a couple of times with the same result at the same location? Either it is a hardware issue or to rule it out try the install on another computer to rule that out.

Let me reiterate that I am an Engineer, not a designer. That is not my CV, but is close enough to illustrate the problem.

...The only problem that I see with either of your posted sample documents is that each looks like a CV that I would expect to see from a job applicant who doesn't understand the subtle issues associated with typing a CV. If either PDF shows messed-up characters on your system, then the problem is on you system and not within the PDF files.

When is Ultrasn0w going to release the unlock for 4.10.01??? Any word if it's going to be any time soon?

This just isn't a priority anymore. With the hardware alternatives and the official unlocks for $170, there is less of a need for it anymore, especially since it appears that finding an exploit is just not that simple and with the impending release of the iPhone 5.

The dev-team hasn't even jailbroken the iPad 2 yet, so the unlock for those basebands which have other unlocking alternatives is just not a priority, the new hardware is.

yah, its working perfect for me at the moment. no complaints, but like i said the machine will be out of commission for a couple weeks, and i figured if i sold it now, i could probably get a better price for it now, rather than later for when the dual dual cores come out and drop the price of the dual processors.

as for dropping it off a building... only if your willing to catch it ;)

This has the potential to rock (so to speak) or fail in a Darwin award winning sort of way. I'm going to waitfor the reviews before I plunk down the cash.

I thought that some of the first ones were more powerful than desktops in the day and you could configure them with a graphics card to use them as desktops.

They're cool - wish I had the space for one...

I might be able to get my hands on a few copies of the NEW Super Mario Bros for DS for a little less than retail. Would anyone be interested in a copy at $30 shipped?

It loads as it's being opened. However, you can choose how to limit this. Pre-loaders can make the page hold until the whole file is loaded or a percentage is loaded. Alternatively, if you break the scenes into seperate swfs and link them then the viewer will only load the files they want.

    Hope that helps.

qik.com check out the macworld category - they wont be able to stop everyone streaming simultaneously if people have the balls to.
otherwise, engadget, gizmodo appoleinsider, ars technica all have live reporting (though havent started the live bit yet)

Thanks for the post, you made me study this pic, again.

I thought something was hinky about this being Key West, but I dismissed it.

Now I think I can see Tampa Bay, Charlotte Harbor, and their cities, and Miami Beach.

Looks like most of Florida to me. ;)
