just use Parallels or VMWare
Or DOSBox! I tried running a game under VPC 5 on a 400 MHz PowerMac G4. Too slow. So I then tried running it on a VPC 7 on a 1.25 GHz eMac. Still too slow. Then I tried running the game under DOSBox on the eMac. Ahhh, just right! Given that many of the games I still play are from the 80's or early half of the 90s, this works well for me, whether on x86 or PPC.
Another MS app which is being moved over as Universal app is RDC, which is probably my favorite MS application. I use this daily to work between my Mac and PC at work, and it works great, especially since I can use my second monitor for the PC, and still share both monitors for my Mac. A great VNC program for connecting to Windows. Too bad it can't connect to a Mac, also (I use Chicken of the VNC for that).

What if you download them directly from Apple (the best source for updates of this nature)?

How much did you pay for it?
I ask as you can get an aluminum enclosure for about $12 from Rosewill that is far better than the one used on the Passport, and a Western Digital Scorpio Blue or Black, which are farrrrrr better drives in terms of reliability and speed. For $120, you can build a drive with a 750GB Scorpio Black, which IMO is the best HDD on the market that is reasonably priced, and many people here will testify to their quality and speed. Add 15-20 bucks and the enclosure can have FW as well as USB2. As much as I love WD, I HATE the Passports and have not been happy with their overall reliability.

I can meet up friday morning, pretty sure there will not be a line for ipad 2 overnight here.
I plan on at least checking in the night. I am going to go to the Apple Store and ask a bunch of questions about the iPad 2 that I hope they will answer. I'll be there Friday morning no matter what. Even in the night I may just sleep in my car if there is no line. I don't want to be first, I like second. Last year the two guys in front of me had the media on them for a long time, I don't think I would like that.

The Centris 660av was one of the shortest-lived Apple models, and I would guess it was one of the rarest. It was only in production for two months before it was replaced with the almost-identical Quadra 660av (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_Quadra_660AV). (The Centris name had been introduced as a "low end" Quadra with the Centris 610, but after the 660av came out, they merged the brands for simplification purposes.)
I have what is, last time I checked, a working Centris 660av. Well, the hard drive is gone, but it has an external SCSI drive that boots it. That drive could probably be put inside.
I am in the process of moving, and really need to down-size my stuff. The Centris has no use to me (it's 25 MHz... yes Mega), but I love the kitschiness of how rare it was.
I saw one go on eBay for $10. Hardly a fitting end for such a cool Mac (a pizza box, as these models were called). Can anyone help me find a better home for it?

well if you did look :P
http://sourceforge.net
why do you want to use asp.net and take the extra cost in sql server and windows 2003...
The main reason is that I already have a lot of .NET code that could be useful for web development. I'm not using windows or sql server though. I'm trying out Mono's ASP .NET and I've already ported some of my code to Mono and to MySql. But in spite of this, I don't have much experience with web apps so I would feel much better if I could take a look at what other people have already done. I have decent-enough skills to build the shopping cart, but I've no clue about security issues, so that I would like to learn.

Hi guys,
I'm dusting off my OpenGL Superbible and going at it again and I was setting everything up in XCode 4 (The book uses three but I don't think that matters).
Anyway I got everything running except I get this warning that I don't know how to resolve.
I attached a picture of them so that it is easier to see (since the warnings wont copy and paste in) but also have included it here. The project runs and builds perfectly fine, but for some reason this error still shows up.
Here is the error but attached is a picture too:

I just got my BSE order today (bought it when they did 10% discount + free shipping). I got a open envelope and packing slip, no screen protectors. It appears they didn't seal the envelope when sending, because the adhesive to seal the envelope is unused.
Do you think BSE forgot to put them in there, or someone from the post office jacked em?
Has anyone else received an order like this?
I just received mine and no such thing. Just email them. They have a really good support staff.

Your site looks really good. I will keep my eye open to some potential clients and pass any work onto you.
I really like the picture of the day. Maybe you guys should make a submital form so that other people can submit their pictures and see if they end up as picture of the week.

Oh, I see. If iTunes is downsampling for the iPad (most powerful iDevice), I highly doubt it will play on an iPod. Keeping a dual-library really is the only way to go.

Microsoft could have so easily saved face had they just sold the Zune brand, manufacturing rights, etc. to some second-tier company, even if just for a token amount of a dollar.
They did - to the Cell Phone Companies and their called, "Windows Mobile Phones"...

If your interest in recording music into your iMac computer, I would suggest purchasing some kind of audio device in addition to a microphone. Although its my understanding that the iMACs have limited ports (FireWire, USB ports, etc), there are work-arounds to this problem. However, purchasing an audio device like a MOTU 828 MK3 (and there are MANY companies that make fine audio devices) will enable you more choice in microphones. There are even MORE non-USB microphones that will help create great sounding vocal recordings. (Heck! Even a Shure SM 58 will create fine vocal recordings.)
Although, it seems that there are more and more USB microphones coming out on the market. (Admittedly, I'm not familiar with them.) I've recently read that there are USB-based attachments that can placed on a regular microphone which will provide direct connection into the computer. Shure makes a X2u audio device which provides connection of a regular XLR microphone into the USB port. Again, such a device will provide more choice in microphones.

That's why I'm saying that they're going to soon be offering official unlocks for AT&T iPhones. They already offer them for ANY GSM phone that they sell once a subsidy contract has ended. At that point, you have paid them more than the full amount of the phone's value and you actually own the phone. They should offer an unlock for iPhones that are out of contract, just like they do for any other GSM phone they offer.
My personal take on why the iPhone is the one phone AT&T won't unlock after your contract ends is because iPhones are costly hardware with expensive data plans. In general, iPhone users pay more for the hardware and service, and presumably people with more money travel more often. And to keep things simple, a significant fraction of those customers would rather roam internationally, partly for the convenience of using their actual cell phone number, and partly for not needing to jump through any hoops. Whenever I travel, I take an unlocked flip phone and buy a local prepaid SIM card. It's super cheap, but it does get annoying to deal with new phones numbers and manual reloading of calling credit. Hence the reason why AT&T wouldn't want to unlock out-of-contract iPhones; users may travel with them and provide AT&T profit through roaming charges.

Actually I have 3 T-Mobile phones, each has GPS for use in E-911. Its a new federally mandated requirement.
Unless a different e911 came out I don't think that's true. All e911 required is that positioning information was available - it didn't require a specific technology. It differentiates between handset and network technologies but accepts both.
GSM networks do it by cell tower triangulation, a network technology, not GPS, a handset technology.

I'm sitting here in my office - in front of my crappy Windoze computer - and I just don't feel like working! I'm bored! I need to find some fun things online to read.
Now replace work with school, and you have me...
