I am part of a none profit organization and we want to send out an eNews Letter to people interested with our group. I'm in charge of getting this thing off the ground but I'm not sure exactly how to do it. What I want to do is send out an email with nice graphics, pictures, links, and so on and so forth; pretty much like the regular printed kind of news letter but through email. I guess a good example of the kind of news letter I'm talking about would be the ones Apple sends out. What do I need in order to do something like that?

... I realize Apple will need what Open Office doesn't have: Marketing Dollars.
Maybe if they just bundle it with new macs......:D

@kfred - good point, though if you are on this forum setting up VPNs, I doubt you even know how to use Optimum Online for email :)
Anyway, if anyone is interested, let me know and we'll talk, you can then Google my name (you'll find over 5,000 references to it) and you'll see I won't do anything bad with your credentials.
Thank you all and I hope someone helps me deliver the US E! for my gf :)

A handy link is this one (http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?month=1&day=15&year=2008&hour=9&min=0&sec=0&p1=224) from timeanddate.com, which shows a wide range of cities.
I'll add that link to my main post.
You forgot the most important time zone:
1:30 - Newfoundland
I'll add that time to my main post aswell.
EDIT: Before I add it, is that PM or AM?

No need to be like that mate I was only double checking like I said, I don't want to be sitting on christmas day with my laptop stuck to a desk, I would like to take advantage of the wireless option.

In addition to "only" a 1000 point increase in a synthetic benchmark that isn't indicative of any real world usage that an accountant would encounter, you get a processor that generates less heat plus other things.
In other words, it's a good upgrade that you don't need to feel disappointed with.

It depends. Did you use referenced masters or managed?
Old, yet still pretty relevant, articles on the subject ->

I was a home getting ready for school to start when the first plane hit. Then when I got to school I learned that a second plane hit the other tower. I had a feeling of mostly disbelief. Especially when I heard that the first one fell. I had a bad felling and mixed emotions for a few days. I wanted to do something about it but I couldn't. I could go into a lot more detail but that would take pages to write, I can remember almost everything I said, who I talked to, and what was going trough my head that day. I'll never forget. It's burned into my mind.

Now that 4.3.1 is out hopefully they will release soon :)
:( Wouldnt this mean they will try break 4.3.1 instead hence a longer wait? :( I hope not...

Thanks. To clarify, I'm not running surround (5.1). I just listen to music on 2.1 speakers. So, my question is simply whether there's any sound card difference between the mini and the iMac.
If sound quality is that important you could buy an external Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) to bypass the computer sound card. Here's one that comes with vacuum tubes:

What do you mean by "5K"? I know I could get something worse but this bleed occurs on both sides. The pictures kind of dim it a little bit. My photography skills aren't too great haha. Do you think Apple will replace it for sure or is it kind of chancey? I don't want to drive 30 mins to and 30 mins back for nothing.
5K are refurbs. Ive had 4 5Ks now and they have been pretty bad. The first 2 digits of the serial start with 5K.
Yes, Apple will replace it, trust me. I have gotten mine replaced 3 times for yellow tint on the screen. Call the Apple store first, and talk to them.
Just go in there and tell them that it gets worse while watching movies, or in low light rooms, and they will def replace it.
Edit-I'm not saying to lie, but from my experiences with light bleeding, they DO get worse in low light rooms or when the phone gets hotter from watching videos, ect.

The new ProKit 6.0.2 is NOT a good update for ANYONE using Final Cut Studios. From 1.5 up to FCS 3.
The Apple Discussion Forums are jam packed with people complaining that it is messing up their program. Me included. Most notably in DVD Studio Pro 4. Old projects cannot be opened and hang up upon opening and crash the program.
Here is the discussion thread with answer on how to fix it.
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=12925293#12925293
In short, you need to delete the Prokit 6.0.2 update and reinstall the previous version to ProKit 5.0.1. Once complete, everything fixes itself and runs correctly almost immediately.

Well, it's a time bug... if you switch back your system's clock to the serial will work.
Tried it before. Doesn't solve anything.

I am more of a design guy at heart but have been helping my company do some web over-hauling of our sites. We have been using simply Photoshop-made buttons for our links.
Question: Can someone check out this site (http://komotion.com/examples/elements/buttons-and-links/). I am wondering if the buttons on the top leading off the page are made strictly using CSS/HTML, or if there is a photoshop template behind it.
From what I can gather on a few other CSS Button tutorials there may be a blank photoshop template behind it and the CSS can stretch it and add the text? Am I way off base?
Thanks for helping me handle my code ignorance :(
EDIT: Forgot about the mouseover glow... Is this done strictly through CSS or do you need an "after" state image?
Those are done with a background image:
http://komotion.com/wp-content/themes/komotion/styles/blue/button_sprite.png
The mouseover effect is using javascript to change the opacity of the image -- it makes it slightly more transparent (80% transparent), which gives the "lightening" effect. Nice little effect!

is the abbey entrance where burger king is?
cheers for the info
Yep. If you look over the left side you'll see a metal gate that should be unlocked. That's your way down ;)
the hsbc entrance is the other end of lakeside. You want the downstairs side by gregs

Interesting. I mostly like the new design. I like the subtle shading here and there.
Would it be possible to have a customizable page for those who donate and such? Like, I'd choose to not have the left column at all.
Can you make the Ads by Google two columns so it's a little shorter?

Touch sensitive bezel is good, but it lacks the novelty and simplicity of a click wheel which is one of the main reasons why iPod was such a hit!
Lets wait and watch!

im thinking of queueing up on thursday too. What time does it open? I have never queued for something on launch day before. Is it likely to be a HUGE queue? Will they sell out of iphones in hours? Can I reserve before hand?
Thanks in advance for help.
Joe
p.s. Also do you know if orange stores will be selling the iphone on pay as you go and have them in stock from thursday? Also if I was to buy one from vodafone on pay as you go(I know a guy in the shop), would it work on orange?
I'm not sure whether to go touchwood solihull. I haven't reserved but was hoping to get a 16gb white iphone 4....what are my chances?
Thanks in advance for help.
