Mona Lisa is a good one too.

has there ever been an MC with that style? I mean you want to talk about unique, Slick the ruler is it.

he's british, and he spent a lot of his life in jail after shooting his girlfriend in the eye...and he has more gold in his teeth than anyone.

But that style...what a flow. have you heard the track he did with Outkast?

it is so good. That is what hip hop is to me. Great flow, lyrically unique and challenging, and a whole lot of humor.

He is my all time favorite. I was listening to "treat her like a prostitute" when I was like 12...maybe that's why I ended up like I did...

"he opened it up with his bare two thumbs and seen crabs with spears and indian drums!"

Well, sort of. What you can do is go into the store and have the issue diagnosed. If they don't have the part in stock (they probably won't, but it's happened), they will order it, and you go home with your old flickering machine. When they get the part, they will call you and you will bring it in again. How long it'll take for them to do the actual repair will depend on how busy they are--could be on the spot (not sure if that's possible since I'm guessing there are quite a few diagnostics they would need to run if they have to replace the display), could be 24 hours, could be longer. Then you come back and pick it up. It means 3 trips to the store for you instead of 2, but this way the machine isn't sitting in their storage room while they're waiting for the part, and you can still use it.

    Good luck!

Anyone here who uses a stand with their MB Air? I'm looking for a small, stylish stand that angles the Air up slightly towards the back. I am currently using a belkin cooling stand, leftover from my MB days.

This would be stealing, as my contract obliges me to continue paying for the cost of the hardware, which really isn't paid for, when I first get the phone. I agree with the others however, that AT&T should unlock the phone, once the contract is up, or that Apple should offer an unlocked phone, albeit at a higher price. I am thinking of expat pilots who live in the UAE flying for an international carrier for 20 days and then get to come back stateside for 10. They really need a solution like that. The next thing that AT&T should do, then, is have a different pricing structure for those with legitimately unlocked phones. After all, that phone didn't cost AT&T a dime.

In what way could you possibly define this as stealing? As you say, your contract is what obligates you to continue paying. Having an unlocked iPhone doesn't magically make your contract disappear. You still have to keep paying AT&T. It does allow you to use your personal property to do business with another carrier, if you choose, but you will still be paying AT&T. The fact that the lock is only in place to keep you from doing business, using your personal property, with another carrier, would be called restraint of trade in any other industry and would itself be illegal. Why is it legal in the wireless industry?

personally I would use that $40 to buy a small bluetooth dongle.... and few cups of starbucks.

This has crossed my mind. I wonder if I'm OCD, though. The thought of that cable being detached, or not having functionality native to the Mini, drives me bonkers. I haven't ruled out a dongle, though.

there are several threads on this at http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ forums.

only the MDD PSU from Apple has the right Voltages, but the mods needed to make it fit the case do not justify the work involved, and then you have a botched up QS (and the risk of miswiring).

There is a reason the Ebay PSU's are fetching $100+, they cannot be duplicated easily. Best bet would be a Digikey or Radio Shack AC-DC Transformer with the +25V output.

    Question(s)-
My brand new 12" ibook G4 seems to make a lot of hard drive noise, even when I'm not doing anything. The noises sound pretty healthy- it's basically a constant, very soft whir (just the spinning, I'm sure) and an occasional clicking (not a "crap, I'm broken" clicking, but more like a "alright, let's kick these heads into place" clicking) every minute or so (sometimes longer).
I'm not trying to be goofy with my descriptions here, but after all I've read in these forums about clicking being bad, I wanted to mention that none of the noises mine are making sound deadly. Rather, I was thinking that maybe this is Spotlight's regularly scheduled indexing? If that's maybe what this is, does anyone know of a way to regulate Spotlight's indexing (make it less frequent or turn it off altogether unless you ask it to) in order to lessen hard drive access and in turn perhaps save battery life?
Any opinions that point to a faulty hard drive are also welcome, but I've had the ibook for a week now and have experienced no problems outside of both the hard drive and optical drive being noisier than I would have liked (seems like a common issue with these ibooks). The hard drive noises remind me of when my imac's hard drive kicks in from or settles down to a rest.
    Thanks!

    Hopefully it doesn't rain.

Cool, I'll update soon. Probably leaving in 20 minutes for Walmart to buy some supplies then off to the Apple store.

Yea, it is really Windy in Brigham City now and the Weather report says 70% Precipitation and a chance of Snow tonight with freezing temps.

This is going to play into the "Tonight or Tomorrow" showing up. It's so difficult to decide, Need to bring a Portable heater if I do.

No Bootcamp doesn't work like that; it's either OS X or Windows. If you want to run both, you need to use a virtual machine such as VMWare Fusion or Parallels. Windows 7 is the OS of choice between XP and 7. Probably the Home version of 7 would be all you need.

I called up my mobile carrier in Switzerland:

I have a (quite expensive) one year contract. They all say the phone is officially locked for two years. I argued that what happens after the one year contract ends? Most of the call agents said: "You'll have to wait two years, it's a decision made by Apple". It's funny, because this company has only been selling the iPhone 4, which started (at least here) in August 2010.

Funny. I called Apple and the technician said (and asked his boss) that the mobile carrier can request an unlock and it will be done usually in 48 hours.

So according to Apple (any?) mobile carrier can request an unlock, send the IMEI (and serial no.?) and it will be unlocked fully automatically through Apple's server in the U.S. through iTunes...

I'm still trying to get my iPhone officially unlocked through my mobile carrier...quite difficult...I have been transferred like six times already...

Exactly. Why cannot every see this? The iPhone 3GS was a massive jump internally over the iPhone 1 / iPhone 2 (3G). The 3G was one of the lamest of the iPhone updates to date.

This statement is just wrong on so many levels.

Hardware speed is nice, but network access is the big thing for phones. Don't believe me? Switch off your 3G and spend a few days on the EDGE network and see how much fun your iPhone is.

Buying another 3G phone is just asking to be left behind by everyone else as LTE/4G is deployed and new apps become dependent on the high-speed connection that it offers -- it's akin to being the last person in the store to buy a regular DVD or VHS player.

Thanks, Apple, but no thanks. I'm not going to be tied a two year service agreement for an outdated phone made of a fragile material with reception issues. No LTE/4G = No sale as far as I'm concerned.

My home button on my 3rd gen iPod touch is constantly triggering itself (quitting apps, turning on the lockscreen and draining battery, activating multitasking, setting off voice control when I have a headphone with a remote and mic plugged in, and anything else the home button can do) and it is extremely annoying. I was able to fix it (kinda) using IncarcerApp, which locks the device into any app after inputing a keystroke (in my case, pressing up then down on the volume keys) Tonight, I updated my jailbreak to 4.3.2, and I was annoyed to find out that IncarcerApp is not supported. I then found another workaround, but it's a bit buggy and annoying: I installed an app quitter sbsettings toggle (essentially a virtual home button) and used activator to remap the home button to disable/enable the data sbsettings toggle (I figured that would be a good toggle to choose since the iPod Touch doesn't utilize data) but every time the home button is supposedly pressed, the screen dims and a notification comes up saying "Data Enabled" or "Data Disabled". Does anyone know a way to fix this, or possibly make an activator gesture that is effectively useless (effectively disabling the home button?). Any other help or suggestions on fixing my issue are more than welcome and greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have to say that my loyalty to Apple dropped a bit. Mac Pro really tested my patience and the update was definately worth it but why in the hell did they not update ACDs to go with it? I really hope they will do silent update this week so I can buy my MP+ACD and forget Apple for few months (until I have money for a notebook) :)

Second, I want to get an ACD but they are to thick, and a little pricy. I am surprised that the ACDs are about the thickness of an imac.

Check out their new 30" display.

    <snip>

that sounds cool and all on paper, but its still a dell. And in my experience with dell...

Apple will release newly designed ACD's along with the newly designed Mac Pro, and since they just released a Mac Pro, I wouldn't think it would be released for maybe another 7 months to a year.

Don't hold your breath. The current ACD's are amazing.

True but he has a point...

More inputs! I'd love to have an ACD hooked up to an :apple:tv in my living room, and one hooked up to a Wii in my bedroom, etc. At the moment my best option is a 27" Dell... I'd love to have Apple styling instead.

And I would love 4 HDMI ports in the 30".:D

built in isight & ir receiver

& i'm sure folks want faster reaction time better graphics capabilities

& somewhere, someone wants it glossy

I'd much rather have an external isight, the option to have it would be good, and the ability to turn and move it without moving the screen would be cool as well. I would like a wireless isight with one button on the back, the photo button. It'd be like having an eye fi card in your isight.

What if the patent diagrams are just cover for what this thing really is, which might-maybe-perhaps-could-be something entirely not-ipod. Maybe, the ipodish descriptions only are to throw us off and it is really a new mini-handheld computer, video player, wireless downloadable from itv-or-your-mac, remote, tv viewer. If apple were to be planning something like that, they would probably want to not let the patent reveal the product. just thinking....

Sorry let me clarify, I'm @ BB in SLC. There is just me here, well my chair and me. At 4PM they give you a ticket so you don't have to wait in line for the last hour. So stupid.

Do they have a clue on stock? Best Buy in SLC may be a good backup if the Gateway gets too overrun.

How can you expect OSx to install applications to an Android phone?
If it works on windows then the installer is written for Windows and obviously isn't going to work on oOSx.
